Description

I was so excited to image this target. This is one of the targets that drove my interest in astrophotography. The galaxy was too small for the scopes I had and is low in the sky for only a few months. With gear that would do the target some justice and the target high enough over the horizon, I got my chance.

According to NASA: "M104 is located 28 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo, and with a mass equal to 800 billion suns, it is one of the most massive objects in the Virgo galaxy cluster."

With only 13 hours on target, I hope to have the chance to gather more images this year to resolve more detail in the galaxy and to improve the stars.
